Joseph Olivadoti (1893-1977) was born in Italy and emigrated to the United States in 1911. Having already learned to play instruments in his homeland, he made a career in his new country as an arranger, composer, and performer in various bands, including Harold Bachman's "Million Dollar Band" for which this piece was written. "Air Waves" became Bachman's signature piece as he used it to start every live radio broadcast of his band during a very popular concert series that took place in Grant Park in Chicago. This piece continues to be a great way to open a band concert or begin a festival performance. Previously published by Southern Music, this edition by Rober Foster is the first to include a full score.
